U5–U8 Developmental Program
“Building Foundations With Fun, Confidence, and DEER Values”
- Program Overview
The U5–U8 Developmental Program is CARAM’s introductory level for children ages 5 to 8. At this stage, the focus is on building a love for football while developing essential motor skills, basic technique, teamwork habits, and emotional confidence.
The program is rooted in CARAM’s DEER Values:
- D – Discipline (following instructions, forming routines)
- E – Ethics (fair play, honesty, taking turns)
- E – Excellence (always trying their best)
- R – Respect (respecting teammates, coaches, and themselves)
- Program Philosophy
Children in this age group learn best through:
- Play-based activities
- Short, dynamic exercises
- Imitation and repetition
- Positive reinforcement
- Imaginative storytelling
- Small-sided games instead of traditional competitive matches
The priority is fun, safety, skill foundations, emotional development, and socialization. (NOT winning games)
